1 Mishima Skywalk-location and background

400 meters long, it offers a great view of Mt. Fuji and Suruga Bay. Opened in Dec 2015, 4 bil yen spent in total for this project.
It takes about 15 minutes to get to the other side, though this will depend on your pace and how crowded the bridge is.
Also, it does shake a lot, especially towards the middle. If you are scared of heights, it is not recommended.

2 Rest and enjoy shopping at Mishima Skywalk

Aside from the bridge, it is like a highway rest area, with shops, café, restaurants and clean toilets, free of charge. There is a beautiful sky garden, accessible using an escalator. It is full of seasonal, beautiful, fresh flowers, hanging from the ceiling like a chandelier. Inside, there are fresh juice stand, souvenir shops, sweets shops and so on.

There is a restaurant serving Japanese curry rice, as well.

Convenient if you have a car. If not, there is a public bus service from MISHIMA station. Also, you can opt for one of the day tour buses as well.

If you have time, it would be nice to spend one night in a nearby hot springs/Japanese style hotel/ryokan. ATAMI, IZUSAN, HAKONE, YUGAWARA are all close by and easy to access.
Or you can opt for a one night-two days bus tour from Tokyo.

3.1 Very Special RAMEN restaurant, about 30 minutes by car from Mishima Skywalk

  • TIBIT for Ramen lovers!

In YUGAWARA 湯河原, there is a very delicious RAMEN shop,  IIDA SHOTEN 飯田商店

If you are in the area, visit IIDA SHOTEN, specializing in RAMEN. Making their own noodles daily, not to mention the soup broth, IIDA SHOTEN is very welcoming and clean for a ramen shop. It is always crowded, but the wait is not long, as it only takes 5-10 minutes to eat, once you are seated.

Try the Soy sauce ramen with dumplings inside. Y1100.
