How to get around Tokyo etc.? Try NAVITIME
Tokyo alone has `80 lines with over 700 stations`...nice to have a handy app to help you navigate through Japan!
It is not easy to get around the Tokyo metro/subway, JR, and all those other trains! Japan has a great system of transportation, but it would be nice to get help. Once you become your own master, your itenary will become so much better and efficient.
In order to get an overview, guidbooks and maps are very useful. However, once you have done so, it would be helpful to get a more detailed information on exactly how to get from point A to point B. In many cases, there are many ways of getting from one point to another. If so, you would want the most efficient one, considering time required, walks inbetween, ticket price and so on. Also, from the station to the restaurant/museum/hotel, you also need direction of which exit to get out and the exact path from there.
Try NAVITIME. It is a very handy app and there is an English version that you can download onto your smart phone!
You can also find free Wi-Fi spots, ATMs, and travel guides for all of Japan.
